Size
  1. Trim Size: 5 3/16" x 8 3/8", plus 1/8" bleed on all sides
  2. Type Safety: Allow 1/4" from trim
  3. Four-color CMYK prcess
  4. Acceptable File Formats: PDF, Adobe InDesign, Quark Xpress, Adobe PhotoShop, Adobe Illustrator (eps file with all type converted to paths)
File Output
  1. Check size is correct including bleed, live area and trim
  2. Include a report if sending native files
  3. Check all images are at least 300 dpi at printed size
  4. Check all colors are CMYK process including those in embedded eps files
  5. Check folder/disc contains all supporting files and fonts
  6. Check EPS files are not nested inside other EPS files (if this occurs, send supporting files)
  7. Artwork sent in on a disc should be accompanied by a full size color proof for color matching on press.

  8. Artwork uploaded via ftp should include a pdf proof along with the native files. For greater accuracy mail/FedEx/UPS a printed color proof to the address above
  9. When creating a PDF, please include all trim & registration marks and color bars.
File Submission
  1. Please compress file folder (for example using Stuffit or Zip) before uploading to our ftp site.
  2. In most cases, for example using Internet Explorer, Firefox or Safari, the ftp client will submit anonymous login credentials automatically without prompting user. This means you won’t be asked for username and password.
    • Go to: ftp://prepress.nwmail.com/incoming, and upload files into this folder.
    • If prompted, the username is: 'anonymous' and the password is: 'guest'
  3. If you experience difficulties trying to upload through a browser, you can download the Filezilla FTP client by Mozilla here.
  4. Using ftp software: (If you are using ftp software, for example Filezilla, Fetch, Cyberduck or Cuteftp, here is the information you will need).
    • URL: ftp://prepress.nwmail.com
    • Username: anonymous
    • Password: guest
    • Upload files into incoming folder.
    • Hint: once the upload progress bar disappears, the upload is complete. This is anonymous ftp site. You will not be able to see any files on our site.
  5. Once you have placed your file on our FTP Site, please email a notification immediately (subject line: TC Insert files) with the following information about your FTP transmission:
    1. Exact filename(s)
    2. PDF of each art file that has been posted (for CSR viewing purposes only)
    3. Date and time sent
